Christmas, New Year´s Eve and unforgettable experiences
The atmosphere of Czech Christmas is very enchanting every year. One of very important parts of this time is the Czech Mess of Christmas, that was composed in 1796 by J. J. Ryba. For the first time, it was performed in Stary Rozmital – a little city where the author lived.
One of the most famous Christmas traditions is a big tree at the Old Town Square in Prague. Around this tree, the Christmas fairs happen every year. There, you may sing Christmas carrols, taste some mulled wine and mead and buy some christmas decoration and presents.
21st December 2013, there will be a Christmas concert of Eva Urbanova (opera singer).
In the South Bohemia, you may discover the Christmas and Advent traditions. No one should miss a typical Christmas meal – a carp with some potatoe salad. The carps come from the ponds in the South Bohemia Region and they are the best in the Czech Republic.
One of the places where you may spend the New Year´s Eve is a steam boat. During the navigation, you will have the possibility to enjoy the view of Prague in a different way.
You may also spend the New Year´s Eve at Czech mountains. In the Czech Republic, there are 450 km of pistes and 300 km cross countries lanes prepared for your holidays.
