Evening visits of the chateau Napajedla and the Mayerling Incident

On the chateau Napedla, there are prepared the traditional evening visits – they take place only during summer holidays – every Thursday from 7pm. In the past seasons, you may have met there different fairy tale creatures, the White Lady or the Bata family. This year, the story of the Mayerling Incident is prepared for You as well as the visit of the beautiful halls and rooms.

The Mayerling Incident is inseparable from the empress Elisabeth called Sisi, from the family Baltazzi and from the chateau Napajedla. On the hunting chateau Mayerling, on 30th January 1889, the crown prince of the Austro-Hungarian Empire killed his mistress and then himself. The background story of this tragedy is to be discovered on chateau Napajedla.

During the summer, you may visit the historical halls, hear the professional explanation or visit the exhibition concerning the family Baltazzi and the chateau Napajedla. The chateau also offers many opportunities to sit down and to taste some home made delicacies, vines and coffees.

Cofé: Friday and Saturday up to 10pm, Sunday up to 4 pm

The chateau was closed for public for a long period of time. In 2008, the reconstructions began and the chateau is now opened to public. Nowadays, the chateau is one of the very interesting touristic destinations in the Czech Republic. Except from the visit of the chateau, you may organize there an exhibition, a children event, a corporate meeting, a family celebration or a wedding. In the chateau, the Moravian Culinary Institute has its seat – the Institute organize the culinary courses for public.

Opening hours:
The chateau is opened all year long.
Friday + Saturday: 10am – 8pm
Sunday: 10am – 4pm
You may visit the chateau or organize there a special event whenever you want, you just need to arrange the exact date before.
