The attitude of hoteliers toward the discount portals
The research of the European Confederation of the Associations of hotels and restaurants (HOTREC) found out that the hoteliers refuse to use the services of the internet discount portals.
The Association of hotels and restaurants of the Czech republic (AHR CR) published the research that shows the negative attitude of Czech and European hoteliers toward the discount portals. The reasons are not only its financial demands, but also the subsequent negative reviews of the visitors – up to -10%.
The analysis shows that the offer of the services through the discount portals use only 30% of hoteliers. Approximately one half of them during the whole year, the second half only outside the season. In the most cases, the commissions are between 21% and 30% of the total price. In the beginning, the usage of these portals was very favourite tool of propagation, but nowadays, it isn´t very accessible because of its costs.
