The Czech republic isn´t an attractive place only for Russians, but also for tourists from countries like Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia. Tourists from these countries consider the Czech republic as a suitable country for excursion tours. They return here more often and recommend the visit to their acquitances. Even wellness or spa holidays are very popular.
The over-average interest in the Czech republic (comparing to the other countries of the West or South Europe) was marked in all of the five pursued countries. In the chart of the spontaneously mentioned destinations, the Czech republic placed at the 5th place in Ukraine, at 9th place in Russia and at 13th place in Lithuania.
In the population of the mentioned countries, there is a big part of habitants, that already has the personal experience with the Czech republic (in Lithuania and Latvia – the half of the respondents, in Estonia one third). And these people plan to recommend the visit to their friends and acquitances. This attitude is the strongest in Ukraine and Lithuania. In the Estonia, the tourists show lower interest, but it is still high in comparing with other european or non-european countries.
„Russia and Ukraine are very important source markets for us, so we cannot lose the contact. The increasing interest is marked even in the Eastern countries that weren´t included in the research, for example in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan,“ said the director general of the Agency CzechTourism, Rostilav Vondruska. The economic potential of the Russian market is – according to Vondruska – huge. The problem is the visa obligation, that is perceived as a big barrier.
The Czech republic is according to the results of the research in the pursued countries considered as a bridge to Europe. In the same time, surprisingly big interest in the regions outside of Prague was remarked. The respondents stressed out the big interest in the visit of „provinces“ (the countryside and touristicaly less visited cities). The tourists want to meet the authentic environs („how the czech people live“).
Russians in the Czech republic admire the clean cities, the adherence to the trafic timetables and the capital without the atmosphere of rush, tension and agressivity. Ukrainians appreciate the czech cuisine and consider it tasty and rich.
Tourists from all of the mentioned countries are attired by the czech spa and welness stays. The two thirds of the respondents consider czech spas as an attractive destination. And czech spas are also attractive because of its prices.
