The Fairytale Blacksmith´s Shop

In the village Selibov near Protivin,there starts the third year of the Fairytale Blacksmith´s Shop. The revitalisation of this ancient blacksmith´s shop was operated by the village Selibov without any other financial support. The Fairytale Blacksmith´s Shop will show to families with children the world of devils, fairies, water goblins and so on.

In the blacksmith´s shop near by the Talinsky pond, there are devils, water goblins, dragons, fairies, elves and other fairytale´s creatures. Children will meet them and will see, how these creatures look in „reality“ – there will be a big collection of fairytale puppets. The guide in the blacksmith´shop will be the fairy or the blacksmith.

One of the other prepared activities is for example the walk through the mysterious forest, where you will meet little John and Marry, witch or other creatures living in forrests. At the end, there will be a devil´s chamber.

The other activity is the creative workshop, where every visitor will have the possibility to mark his impressions. The refreshment stand will be prepared as well – except from the usual snacks, the visitors will may buy the fairytale snacks – bear´s flat cakes, devil´s tails or royal ducats.

After passing through all the parts of the blacksmith, you may examine your fairytale knowledge. In the garden, there is a Path of Ferdinand the Stork, where you will check your knowledge on 7 stops.

Opening hours of the Fairytale Blacksmith´s Shop:
May, June, September, December 2013: weekends and bank holidays, 10am – 5pm
July + August: every day, 10am – 5pm
for school and other groups: everytime after the individual arrangement.

During the trip to the South Bohemia, you may also visit the city Protivin. There is a very interesting chateau, church and brewery. The unique place is the Crocodile ZOO, where are more than 20 crocodile species. The other object in Protivin is the City Museum of exotic nature with very interesting collections of fauna and flora – from the Carribean and Africa. Near by, there is the Museum of skulls of vertebrates, which is a unique in the whole Europe. The lovers of hiking will enjoy many of the tourist lines around the city Protivin.
