2nd part of the four part series where you will meet the main advantages of the modern city cycling.

Children and bikes
Children would like to go to school on bike. The austrian research shows that it is exactly one third of children population. But only 11% of them fulfill their dream. The main reason of the failure of this dream is that the parents are worried. That is also the reason why the number of children going to school on feet decreased – from 84% to 14%. It is not surprising that every year, there is more and more children suffering from overweight and obessity.
 

You will fall in love with cycling
Many people are surprised when they realise that riding a bike could be fun. For the majority of people the cycling became their favourite hobby that they practice during their free time and holidays. So it is only the question of getting over one´s laziness.
 

The cycling support the economy
It is proved that the cyclists buy less things, but they visit the shops more often. In Munster (Germany), the average cyclist spends about 10 EUR more than the motorist. In Bern (Switzerland), the bike stated before the shop had higher value for the shop than the parked car – the difference in incomes is 875 EUR.
 

The bike is ideal for shopping
The majority of people go to shops by car and justify it by the volume of the purchased items. The research in the austrian Graz showed that only 8% of population make the purchased so big that they need a car. More than three thirds of the shoppers could use the bike in order to bring the purchased items home.
 

Bikes create the space
The big problem of all drivers and the municipalities are the parking spaces. The creation of the parking spaces is very expensive. And as there are more and more cars, the necessity of the new parking places unceassingly increases. At one standard car parking place, there could be „parked“ 9 bikes. The exchange of a car for a bike saves money to municipalities and the stress while looking for a vacant parking place to You.
